Benefits Manager

Reports To:

Director of Human Resources

Hours:

40+ hours per week -- depending on current job assignment

Classification:

Exempt

Travel:

10% and as needed

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Assist in the development of our corporate benefits strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize the cost of benefit programs between company and Associate to meet organizational goals.
  • Manage and develop a team of benefit specialists focused on performance excellence and Associate Satisfaction
  • Work with senior leadership to evaluate success of benefits programs.
  • Partner with all Departments to uphold the Company Vision and Mission

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Complete understanding of ACA; including the ability and knowledge to provide strategy around the design of benefit programs as they relate to ACA and impact other functional departments within Capstone
  • Proven ability to work with outside vendors and brokers to find and develop the best offerings for all levels of Capstone Associates
  • Ability and willingness to deliver continuous improvement of Capstone's Benefit Programs, aimed at bringing Capstone to the forefront in our industry as it relates to Associate benefit offerings
  • Certifications and education supporting a drive to be a Capstone champion within, and beyond the Benefit and Human Resources Departments.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Effectively manage, including auditing of all monthly invoices, the compliance of each health, life, dental, vision, FSA, disability and all voluntary programs, including our 401(k) retirement programs
  • Manage and maintain a team of benefit focused Associates, trained and proficient in the education and understanding of all benefit related programs and requirements
  • Deep understanding of HRIS, Payroll and Benefit platforms
  • Knowledge and experience in managing various compliance programs, including but not limited to, HIPAA, ERISA, FLSA, COBRA, USERRA and FMLA
  • Initiate and manage the full cycle benefit programs within Capstone, to include but not limited to, on-going assessment of each program and its value to Capstone Associates, mid-year analysis and collaboration with our insurance broker to get ahead of coming year plan designs as well as searching and presenting alternative ideas based on strong research and analytical data for future offerings

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or higher, plus a minimum of 10 years' experience working specifically in the benefits field while managing a team focused on HR or Benefits
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • Human Resources Certification through SHRM or HRCI a plus
