What you'll master:


The Manager of Business Development's primary objective is to achieve revenue and margin growth from new client acquisition (HQ). The Manager of Business Development will be expected to produce month over month growth in the number of new acquisitions, training new client acquisition GP, new client acquisition and BDA-generated GP in Chicago (HQ). Some specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  • Sales Process Design: Re-define the current operating structure for lead sourcing, lead qualifying and lead discovery into a digestible/efficient format. Additionally, focus on improving sales tactics at point of contact and focus simplifying the RFP discovery process.

  • Daily oversight and supervision of all front-end Business Development Manager sales activity (BDMs): Maintain organization and progression of LDL lead pipeline through the execution of targeted sales strategy and tactics.

  • Coaching & Mentorship: Engage in the overall training of individual team members as well as contunally self-educating on current industry related topics and imparting that information to the Department.

  • BDM/BDA Strategy: Collaborate with Driector of Operations to ensure complete fulfillment of BDA responsibilities relating to load acquisition and operational execution.

  • Execution of BDA/BDM Account Strategy: Facilitate collaboration between BDMs and BDA to define account strategy and daily execution standards for all BDA accounts.

  • RFP Management & Pricing Strategy: In conjunction with Director of Carrier Services (and/or Dedicated services) re-define dedicated pricing components and define strategy for execution.

  • Face to Face Client Interaction: Meet with prospective and current customers in a F2F setting with the objective of closing business or further solidifying the relationship.

  • Work with the sales team to fine tune information stored in CRM: administer all CRM quoting and activities



 

What we're looking for:




  • At least 2 years of inside or outside sales/logistics experience

  • 2 years of Management/Leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Hands-on approach to business -- act as a player/coach

  • Excellent communication skills -- cross-departmental collaboration with department leaders

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills
