Safety Site Manager

Commerce, CA

Capstone Logistics is a fast growing, exciting company focused on third party services in distribution centers across the nation. We are in 48 states and over 400 Distribution Centers across the United States. We are looking for a Safety Site Manager to join our team and be part of something great. We have an outstanding career opportunity for a driven, successful leader with at least 2 years of increasing management responsibility in the safety/training fields. Successful candidates will handle the daily processes and protocols in the area of warehouse safety and compliance. We provide unloading services for our client.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing the site's Health & Safety Program to foster a working environment that promotes safety, productivity and adherence to company Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and federal/state regulations
  • Complies and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Identify, reduce and eliminate leading loss for worker injury and workers' compensation claims
  • Oversee and assist site managers/supervisors in all accident investigations and ensure proper documentation and follow-up is executed to completion
  • Provide site managers/supervisors the necessary training to obtain detailed descriptions, corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrective actions are implemented related to accidents, near misses, injuries or property damage
  • Manage all aspects pertaining to the reporting, recordkeeping, management and follow-up related to safety training, safety certifications and licensing, inspections and audits, complaints, and follow-up actions and abatements
  • Other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be very flexible with shift start times as well as days worked, including weekends and holidays
  • Regulatory Compliance or Safety knowledge
  • Strong organization and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks
  • Intermediate PC skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to compose and produce reports, documents and related material
  • Ability to develop and/or implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain or Third Party experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to occupational safety, environmental health or safety is a plus
  • Related work experience in a warehouse environment strongly preferred
