Network Administrator II – Hybrid Cloud (Azure / Kubernetes)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), and Terraform. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and automating cloud-native infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on scalable, secure, and highly available environments. The ideal candidate excels in cloud architecture, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and collaborates closely with Infrastructure and DevOps and application teams.
Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Engineering
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure resources: virtual machines, networking, storage accounts, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Design and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments for secure remote access.
- Implement security baselines, patches, backups, and disaster recovery strategies for Azure workloads.
- Connect needed resources to on-premises resources.

Kubernetes & Containerization
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters (AKS or upstream).
- Design and support Kubernetes networking: Services, Ingress, Network Policies, CNI plugins, load balancing, DNS within clusters.
- Optimize containerized workloads for performance, reliability, and security.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Git-based CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
- Build reusable templates and scripts to standardize deployments across Azure and Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate automation with monitoring and alerting solutions (Datadog, Azure Monitor).

Collaboration & Project Delivery
- Lead cloud migration projects, proof-of-concept deployments, and environment refreshes focused on Azure and Kubernetes.
- Work closely with DevOps, application, and security teams to support agile delivery of cloud services.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (virtual networks, AKS, Azure Virtual Desktop).
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes (AKS or upstream), including networking and container orchestration.
- Proven skill in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts (firewalls, load balancing, routing, VPNs).
- Experience supporting containerized workloads and Linux-based servers.
Preferred/Plus Skills
- Experience integrating cloud security best practices (RBAC, zero trust).
- Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Azure Monitor).
- Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to work across infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, cloud-centric environment.
