Job Description

Capstone Logistics, LLC is part of The Transportation and Logistics industry which has been designated a "Critical Infrastructure Segment". As a "critical infrastructure industry" worker in the Transportation and Logistics industry, associates are considered exempt from local restrictions such as curfews, shelter-in-place orders, and other mobility restrictions when reporting to, returning from, or performing his or her work functions.

Capstone Logistics, Last Mile Division is seeking a skilled Terminal Manager to support our growing business operations. The Terminal Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations of the terminal to ensure high efficiency operations, excellent customer service, and optimal profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager in developing and implementing short and long range operational goals.
  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking courier services through operational staff. Oversee the transportation department and/or the warehouse operation.
  • Maintain and analyze reports that track logged issues, open routes, and on-time performance.
  • Manage and review route logistics, troubleshoot service problems, and implement schedule and route changes to ensure efficiency.
  • Establish a quality transportation network that has customer service as a driving force.
  • Communicate with customers to determine service levels and needs.
  • Manage relationships with Vendor/ICs to ensure the terminal is able to meet customer needs.
  • Manage direct reports to include performance monitoring, training and development, and scheduling, recruiting.
  • Maintain operation within company financial guidelines and budget.
  • Promote safe work activities by conducting and/or attending company safety meetings. Oversee work progress to verify safety or conformance to standards set by the company safety policies.
  • Implement TSA requirements (if applicable) by completing TSA Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program and becoming familiar with all TSA Known Shipper requirements.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred and/or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years management, customer service and/or dispatching experience, preferably in courier or transportation field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to make optimum decisions quickly under pressure
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, & routing software
  • Interpersonal skills; ability to foster teamwork and motivate/coach others
  • Knowledge of local and regional geographical area
  • Handle occasional light and heavy lifting
