The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits, and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, LOA, and Medical Support Orders (MSO's).
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Conducts benefits education portion of new hire orientations in conjunction with the HR Generalist.
- Assists with open enrollment process, including, communications development and distribution, OE system testing, and educational webinars.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Monitors Benefits Department email and assists employees and managers with their benefits questions or issues. Provides additional assistance when employees are experiencing issues with insurance carriers.
- Processes and administers leave-of-absence, accommodation requests, and applicable disability paperwork.
- Manages the MSO Process (Medical Support Orders).
- Assists with ACA compliance and management of 1095C's.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
- Processes some of the department monthly invoicing.
- Other duties as assigned.
